Garry K. Thomas’ practice focuses on Family Law and civil litigation. Mr. Thomas practices in all areas of Family Law. He has extensive trial experience but as well, where appropriate, seeks and negotiated result with or without mediation. He has carriage of complex financial cases involving the determination of income, issues of child and spousal support and the division of assetes. He has extensive experience with custody and access cases including where one parent leaves the jurisdiction with the children.
Mr. Thomas’ litigation practice also includes the representation of injured people from auto accidents.
Mr. Thomas retains where necessary and appropriate various experts or other professionals to assist him the carriage of complex files. These experts may include business valuators, chartered accountants, psychologists who perform custody and access reports, actuaries, and other professionals who may assist in obtaining the best result for the client.
Mr. Thomas appears at all court levels but most frequently in the B.C Supreme Court. Mr. Thomas has had the conduct of a number of appeals that were heard by the B.C Court of Appeal.
