After completing her undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University, Michelle obtained her law degree from the University of Victoria in 2006 and was called to the bar in 2008. She has since practiced primarily as a trial lawyer in the areas of family and criminal law. Michelle has significant courtroom experience in both Provincial and Supreme Court, including judge alone and jury trials.
She has a particular interest and experience in cases of acrimonious marital breakdown including incidents of violence.
Michelle has been active in her legal community, serving as both Chair and Vice Chair of a C.B.A. subsection. She maintains work-life balance through physical activity such as running and rock climbing.
Having raised her own family, Michelle is familiar with the emotional, physical and financial toll that separation and divorce brings. She is skilled with helping clients navigate the process and work towards resolving and moving on from the disputes that inevitably arise during this difficult time.
