Garry obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall in 1984 and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1987 and British Columbia in 1994.
With nearly 25 years managing a successful litigation practice, Garry has developed a wealth of experience in complex family and civil cases. His extensive experience handling high conflict family breakdowns has brought him to all court levels, including the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Garry has experience negotiating results, with or without mediation, backed by extensive trial experience, often involving a myriad of legal issues extending beyond family law.
Garry has handled complex financial cases concerning the determination of income, issues of child and spousal support, valuation of family businesses and ventures, and division of assets. He has extensive experience with custody and access cases, including mobility disputes and circumstances where one parent has absconded with the child to an alternate jurisdiction.
In both his family and personal injury practice, Garry retains and instructs, where necessary, various experts and professionals to assist him the carriage of complex files. These experts may include business valuators, chartered accountants, psychologists, actuaries, and other professionals who may assist in obtaining the best result for the client.
Garry maintains work-life balance through fishing, racquet sports and camping with his wife and two children.
